Medi-Map is integrated with the New Zealand Electronic Prescription Service (NZePS) under an approved exception, enabling prescribers to generate, manage, and transmit electronic prescriptions (e-scripts) directly within the platform.

This feature enhances workflow efficiency, compliance, and patient safety.
Key Features:
Integrated E-Script Generation: Prescribers can create e-scripts directly from a patient's chart.
Auto-Saving: Each prescription is automatically saved in the patient's Documents tab for 90 days.
Smart Data Entry: Mandatory NZePS fields are highlighted on first use; system remembers data for future prescriptions.
Signature Exempt: All prescription medications (PM) and Controlled Drug (CD) e-scripts are exempt from needing a physical signature.
Barcode Enabled: Scripts include the NZePS barcode, supporting efficient pharmacy workflows.
Benefits:
Reduces time and duplication in prescribing
Enhances compliance with national standards
Improves data accuracy and traceability
Streamlines communication between prescriber and pharmacy
Supports paperless workflows, with printing still available as needed
How to Create an E-Script in Medi-Map
Navigate to the patient's chart and click "Create E-Script" at the top.
Review and update the script details.
For single medications, tick the item, enter Days of Supply, then click "Generate e-script and Save."
For Controlled Drugs, enter Days of Supply, Quantity per Dispense, Units, and Repeats.
For multiple medications, select desired items, enter the required supply periods, then click "Generate e-script and Save."
The pharmacy is notified a script has been created and stored
You may print the script for the patient or simply close the popup to continue with the next patient.
